CELEBRATING BLACK
HISTORY & EXCELLENCE!
This Black History Month, the SLGEF want to uplift and celebrate, recognize and illuminate Black history and excellence. Not just this month, but every day and moment, reflecting, learning and recognizing the strides, trials, tribulations and lived experiences of Black people in America and globally will further the mission for liberation, joy and justice.
Take the time to look back to celebrate history and to look forward to the opportunities ahead of us, to advance and to make change. As we honor and celebrate those who have made Black History this month, there is Black History presently in the making, with small and large actions everyday and we encourage you to ally with Black people this month and every month. For us to take time, to interrogate our own assumptions, bias and prejudices, in ourselves and institutions and then when we see these at work in the world to uproot them.
